These are film photos from my home, the Midwest. I am from eastern Iowa, attended college in Southeast Minnesota, spent the better part of a year as an assistant land manager in Minnesota, and am now a graduate student in Chicago, Illinois. Much of my photographic work depicts the driftless area of Northeast Iowa, Southeast Minnesota, and Southwest Wisconsin. It also depicts many ecosystems outside the driftless area like the big woods, tallgrass prairie, and north woods. I find midwestern landscapes to be too often overlooked and too seldom appreciated. I hope that my photos can inspire others to care about these places that I love so deeply.
